All editors will be invited for annual refresher training. The SLG team will maintain a record of editors who attend training. 

Roles and responsibilities

The SLG is managed by the Education Improvement Service based in Shirehall.  The key contact in the team is Steve Compton (School Improvement Adviser).

The Digital Services Team is the technical provider of the SLG.  Details of the team can be found here.

Editors are responsible for maintaining their specific areas.

Editor passwords

All editors should ensure that their password meets the Council's password policy.  The policy is that the password should be a minimum of 8 characters and include a mixture of lowercase, uppercase and numeric characters.  Editors should change their password at first log-on and then every 90 days.

Content review

Editors are responsible for ensuring that content in their section is accurate and up-to-date.

Issues with editing should be reported to the SLG team (  Editors should also ensure that the they report when a change of role leads to a change of editing responsibilities.

Members of the SLG team will periodically review the SLG content.  Editors will be informed of any errors.  Information that is out of date may be removed.


Editors should always retain copies of any documents uploaded onto the SLG.  These documents should be stored in appropriaate location on the council's ICT system.

Reporting issues

All issues should be reported through the e-mail address.  A link to this can be found at the bottom of every page on the SLG.  Reporting through the address allows the SLG team to monitor the number of issues as well as any trends.
