Religious Education and SACRE
Resources, contacts and details about Shropshire SACRE.
The Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education is required by law. Shropshire SACRE ensures that schools are supported to deliver powerful and meaningful RE. SACRE advises schools on the teaching of RE through the Agreed Syllabus and provides support to improve teaching, develop resources and provide guidance.
The Agreed Syllabus is a statutory document which outlines the nature and purpose of RE, enabling schools and teachers to build curriculums that engage, enthuse and develop young people's understanding of religious and non-religious worldviews.
A sample section of the Shropshire Agreed Syllabus for RE can be downloaded from this page. All Shropshire schools have been given access to the syllabus and materials from the Autumn 2021 launch conference. A school log-in is required to access this.
